Panic attacks are intense and sudden surges of fear or discomfort that can occur unexpectedly, often without a clear trigger. They are a hallmark symptom of panic disorder but can also occur in other anxiety disorders. A panic attack typically peaks within minutes and can create a feeling of overwhelming dread or a sense that one is losing control or facing imminent danger, even when there is no real threat. Understanding panic attacks is crucial, as they can significantly impact a person's quality of life and daily functioning. Dysregulation in certain brain areas, including those involved in the fear response and emotional regulation, can contribute to the intensity and frequency of panic attacks.

Limitations of Traditional Treatments
Traditional treatments for panic disorders typically involve psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, and medications like antidepressants and benzodiazepines. While these can be effective, they may not work for everyone and can have side effects or lead to dependency.
How Kind Health TMS Targets Panic Disorders
Our clinic specializes in Accelerated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a cutting-edge treatment for panic disorders. TMS employs magnetic fields to activate brain nerve cells, focusing on regions associated with regulating emotions and the fear response. This non-invasive approach can help recalibrate the brain's response to fear and anxiety, potentially reducing the frequency and severity of panic attacks.

Li, H., Wang, J., Li, C., & Xiao, Z. (2014). Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for panic disorder in adults. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2014(9), CD009083. https://doi.org/10.1002/14651858.CD009083.pub2
Abstract: This systematic review assesses the efficacy and safety of rTMS for panic disorder (PD) in adults. The review includes randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating rTMS as a monotherapy or as an augmentation strategy for PD. The review found that rTMS can deliver sustained and spatially selective current to suppress or induce cortical excitability, and its therapeutic effect on pathological neuronal activity in people with PD has been examined in case studies and clinical trials.
